What kind of work is done in CA-Articleship. Presentations are delivered or just paper work or both? And what's the total duration of articleship after which one can sit for Professional Exam - I.

Depending on the qualification you are aiming for and the length of the training programme. In the UK the length of a graduate programme is about 3 years, but this will vary with employers.

Porbationary period would also depend on your co and the programme and also if they are an appoved employer.
