To be honest, I have been tempted to reply earlier, the main reason I have held back is the massive amount of trolling over here, a few individuals have made their attempts to annoy others their sole reason for existence.
I personally believe that silly posts which lack any judgment and creativity at all should be deleted instantly, but that is more of an administrative issue and in practice can be very difficult to implement, even with active moderation. In my own forum we tried enforce a minimum level of âintelligenceâ but it became rather cumbersome and problematic, so we had to restrict it to sections which demand reasoned argument, for example the religion and politics forums.
I must commend some of you guys for actually surviving this place. An example of this being the inflammatory remarks some people have made in those inter-institute wars. While their massive amount of misinformation is annoying, itâs a sad fact that you really cant change or even influence the level of creativity in someone who has been used and abused by our countries education system for 15 or so odd years. These people will hold on to their beliefsâ¦beliefs being a more appropriate term since everyone seems to take things personal so easily, and are willing to lose all decency for them. Anonymity can be a privilege, but the prospect of free speech somewhat compounds its annoyances.
A place for discussion on the internet rarely amounts to tangible and productive enterprise, at least in my own experience, but there is still a lot to be gained from this, when it comes to creativity. You can learn, educate, and actually improve yourself. I think with enough mature and reasonable posters here, everyone else might take the hint and at least try to improve their discussion abilities with actual contribution instead of just trolling aroundâ¦
