i agree many of u , n not with many of u, mates.
it is a fact tht market of mba was(n is) declined bcoz of substandard institutions. as long as iba n lums were the key producers, the things were quite good. but things r still good if u r hard working n come out of good institutions with MBA degrees.
well, the comparision of mba n ACCA/ACA on the basis of salary is not justified, bcoz mba n acca/aca ve very little in common in terms of their fields of operations.
if v talk abt accounting n finance area, yes, definitely ACCA/aca ve an edge ___ n they shud ve it bcoz of more rigorous efforts of these guys ___ so better salaries for acca/aca.
if v look at marketing or human resource management areas of a company, or purely the financial institutions, i find tht mba is better for it ___ n hence very highly paid salaries there for MBAs.
my classmates who were in iba n lums, got their jobs in their final semesters with good MNCs, particularly those friends who were in marketing ___ some of them started off at 40k+.
conclusion is tht salary is not the proper parameter to segment the market bcoz acca/aca n mba r not the players of same fields, although they do overlap on many a occasions.
