Oil companies assured of maximum help

LAHORE (December 01 2002) : Petroleum Minister Chaudhry Naurez Shakoor has said that the government would provide maximum facilities to foreign investors for the exploration of oil and gas across the country.

While discussing current political situation and reviewing the progress of Sui gas extension projects for different cities with the Punjab governor, Lieutenant General Khalid Maqbool (Retd) here on Saturday, he said the reforms introduced in the ministry and privileges announced for the investors during the past 3 years would continue.

He also informed the governor that his ministry would continue the projects for provision of gas to 11 cities of Punjab where the Punjab governor had made announcement during his mass contact campaign on different occasions.

The governor on this occasion greeted Chaudhry Naurez Shakoor on assuming the office of the ministry and expressed the hope that oil and gas exploration would be made with fast pace in the country in the days to come. This, he added, would result in providing gas facilities to people and improve the pace of industrial development in the country.
