Dear Readers
I am not misguiding anyone nor forcing anyone. Its upto individual to decide what to do.
Firstly after ACCA one do not need to go for ICAEW as both are equals. Yes after ACA from ICAP one need to have some other international qualification as ICAP is inferior qualification. ICAP is not recognised at all outside Pakistan, where ACCA is recognised in 80 countries of the world.
After ACA from ICAP one need to pass ICAEW 4 papers plus 2 yrs training. Means 3.5 yrs training of ICAP plus 2 yrs training of ICAEW means total of 5.5 yrs of training. Moreover one need to apss ICAP 20 papers plus 4 papers of ICAEW.
On other hands ACCA Affliciate (person who have passed 14 papers of ACCA but do not have any experience) needs to pass ICAEW 3 papers plus 3 yrs training. Means total of three yrs training.
firms in Pakistan will prefer ACCA over ICAP for ICAEW training as ACCA affliciate already had experience of sitting and passing British papers under British system. Remember ACCA papers are very similar to ICAEW. But ICAP papers are very different to ICAEW papers and are based on rata.
I never said I did M.com. i did Mastrer in Economics. People like SAIFEE who are just Fsc, are advsing people what to do and are saying Bachelors of Masters in nothing. Secondly I never cared about ACA from ICAEW even I was offered training in UK leading to ICAEW examinations.
It is clear from entry requirement of ACCA and ICAP which qualification is better. ACCA ask for Pakistani graduate whereas ICAP ask for Fsc or F.A so one can understand which qualification is better.
Even if I did ACCA after Masters i still qualified at age of 27 where ICAP people qualifiy at average age of 31. So who is better.
Anyway best of luck in your studies of ICAP.
