Council of ICAP has withdrawn the conditions imposed in para 13.2 of Syllabus Booklet. According to the new change any student / candidate who has appeared in an ICAP examination or any paper (s) thereof, shall be exempt from that examination or any paper(s) thereof if the student / candidate subsequently passes examinations of another accountancy body / University whose qualifications are exempted from such ICAP examination(s) / paper(s).

Of course I dont agree with it. This had happened before as well. we know that.
it is ridiculous that if a candidate attempts and fails an examination, he/she gets exemption by passing another equivalent exam...
.. the fact is if you attempt it then you have to pass it.. this is a world practice and it wont fare well for ICAP trying to get a full international equivalency for its membership.
