CA vs MBBS

Hi fellows,

What is better in terms of monetary rewards,CA or MBBS from any private college like Al-shifa(Pindi) or Lahore medical College?
Please suggest the best one and pull my cousin out of this dilemma.
Remember, my cousin recently passed A'Levels with good grades.
Please suggest quickly.

CA is better in terms of monetary rewards as compared to any other qualificaion...one of my friends has recently completed his CA...and he got the job in the same firm from where he has completed his articles...his starting salary is Rs 40000.
I don't think that an M.B.B.S can earn such a starting salary...

in pakistan off course CA,s have shinning future but but if u r MBBS than go to abroad(UK,USA)than the future is yours...

An MBBS would perhaps be a more lucrative (and personally rewarding profession) if one aspires to and goes on for specialisation. Creative has rightly pointed out that Doctors earn more than accountants in the West. (A general presumtion). I must say I had a couple of colleagues with me in Articles who had left MBBS- Third year and joined to train as a CA.

However, what intrigues me is have you considered what your apptitude is, would you be more suitable for a medical career or dor one in Accounting/Finance. These are two entirely different areas! Its important that you have the right apptitude for the career you choose. If you have matching skill sets with the career you choose, you have more chances of excelling in it, making more money than your peers and enjoying it as well. Give a second thought on these lines as well.

In term of cost benefit, if doctor is not Specialize from UK or USA
then i vote for CA

In term of cost benefit, if doctor is Specialize from UK or USA
Then i vote for Specialize doctor ) i see many doctors who earn more then 1 to 2 lack per day )

In the most technical words (regarding montery value in Pakistan), I would like to say that;

Chartered Accountant(CA) = MBBS/BDS + Specialization in anyone (MRCP/MCPS//MD/FCPS/FRCS etc).
