Dear Seniors,
Assalam-o-Laikum
If a company want to change its name then what would be the procedure under Company Law.
Please also explain whether the new name would have any effects over the contracts made by the company.

A company may change its name by Sprcial Resolution. The changes will take take effects from the date by which the Registrar of the Companies issue a new Certificate of incorporation after entering changed name in the register of the companies the Registrar must publish the issue in london Gazette.
The Company remains the same corporate body the changes do not effect the Rights and Obligations of Company

Hey Zikria Brother in some of the posts i posted that if a company changed herslef from Private to Public then it need to recieve Trading Certificate......Actually dear this is outdated information new Information is that whenever a Company change herself from Private to Public Company it do not need to have Trading Certificate Section 117..
