My personal thinking;
In Pakistan;
1) CA
2) CFA
3) MBA

Worldwide;
1) CFA, CPA & CA... depending on industry requirements
2) Other professional qualifications (ACCA, CMA, ACMA)
3) MBA

Sohail

All professional qulaifications having their own worth whether it's CFA, CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA...
That's true CFA are in high demand and they are well paid but we can't write off importance of other professional designations and all other above mentioned designations are taking handsome salaries depending upon nature of industry & econmic conditions of a country.
Coming towards starting salary again it varies from person to person, country to country but both CFA & CA are drawing good starting packages. I don't know you are asking about which particular country but in Middle East they are starting from $6,000/Month basic salary on average.

As-salamoalaikum Sameera,

I would suggest you to go for BBA 4 years program because after that you'll be eligible to sit in CFA exams. During your BBA Program, you'll get to know the basics of accounting which will ultimately help you in CFA. Besides, you'll have an option to either go for 1 year MBA or CFA certification.

No you can get a job after completing your BBA. It all depends on how you present yourself in the job market. I'm recommending it since its way easier than ACCA, CA Inter or any other qualification. Though, you are free to make your own decisions. [D]

[b]Well Sameera, Its a hard decision very hard indeed. As a Freshman in Sciences aka FSc (Pre-Medicine) I had also gone through same situation.

Actually the ambiguity lies in the lack of aim. We don't have a clear aim for our lives. Particularly at level of 12th year and less. Once we select an aim then its easier to select a qualification. By Aim here I mean a position in Company like CEO, CFO, CMO, etc. First select the position which you want to attain and the job that you are going to enjoy.

Selecting an aim is not an easier task again. Let you interest and preferences rule your decision, not the market particularly job market. You can attain excellence when you have interest in some kind of job. You know job is evaluated by performance. How could you perform well when you select an education that you dont enjoy at all?
If you want to go to a government job, then I would rather prefer a B.A for it, after that qualify CSS i.e not an easy task though. If you are going into investment side CFA/BBA(Hons in finance)/MBA Finance is best option. If you have interest in entrepreneurship(managing own business) the MBA(marketing)/BBA(Hons Marketing) is best choice. If you have interest in individual practice or heading a finance department then CA/ACCA/ICMA is best option. So put forward your interests and aim in front of you and then go by which education will be best for attaining that AIM.

Here goes
1. Identify your interests
2. Select your Aim
3. Then select your the education.

I would like to entertain you with a survery of rozee.pk(Pakistan online job seeking website) which clearly gives you an idea of other top professions besides business studies. So have a look and decide on your interest and aim. That would be more satisfactory I bet.
