It was noted that several members were breaking the terms of the agreement made between Accountancy and the members at the time of their registration.

They were found spamming/ flooding the forums with meaningless messages which is an abuse of member's rights.

Their membership has duly been terminated.

Atleast you are expected to adhere to the democratic values and as such you are expected to name the members whose memberships are terminated.

The Admin
Accountancy.com.pk

Dear Sir

This is ophelestas, a former member of yours. I have acquired senior memberships by posting numerous times a mail and got dismissed for that. Sir, as far as I can recall, your terms of agreement discourage the mails which are vulgar, harassing, hateful, threatening, invading of others privacy, sexually oriented, or violates any laws. As the mail posted by me cannot be categorized in any of te categories provided above and my intention was just to give Mr. Arsalan a lesson not to post un-necessary topics, I request you to reinstate my membership and oblige.

Thanks
Ophelestas

Dear Ophie

The agreement between Accountancy and a member clearly states that the member will not post messages which violate any laws. Flooding a forum with meaningless messages comes under the definition of Spam under the US Anti-spam Act passed in November of 2003 and is since then a federal crime. Since our web servers are based in USA, thereore, we also have to abide by those laws alongwith local Pakistani statutes.

We again are sorry to see your lose your membership in this way. What we can do to accomodate you is to let you continue your current membership under the nick of 'Ophie'.

We hope that you and other members will understand our position.

Ouch... !

Ophie and Arslan, whats with this fixation with seniority of membership?? I mean nobody pays you extra or anything because of it.

Anyways... i've always preferred Ophie over Ophelestas, so dont feel too bad about it. Just have some patience and thou shalt be appropriately rewarded!

Thanks Guy Brush by the way for encouraging me. I am so sad right now. I've lost my identity. I am a relatively old member of these forums and these new chicks made me feel so bad. Anyways admin guys are right on their part. Lets see if they come up with a more flexible attitude in response of my mail.

what a rubbish attitude by the managment. Accoding to the post, the person is in breach of members agreement, so his membership was terminated. But now he is to be accomdated back by allowing him to use a different name. what a load of rubbish?

Admin please let me know whether my post comes under spam laws as well.

Hi goodman (Arslan i presume?)

Allow me to act as the devil's advocate here. I've been a member of this board for a period longer than anyone else and i've never seen a termination like this before. I guess that the admin had to act strict to curb these sort of activities on the board, especially after this antispam act has been promulgated. But i also feel that they understand the feelings of the terminated members, thats why they have punished only by taking away their membership rating. (which itself was obtained in a rather dubious fashion, if i may add )

Hi guybrush

My name is zubair, I used to post but then I disappeared cuz I control tax side of my company and 31 Jan and 29 Feb were important deadlines in UK tax system and I didnot want to visit my indemnity insurers at such an early stage of my career.

When I came back, I forgot my password. Then I thought why not create a new one.

All i can say on this is if it is illegal to use such words on this board, then the admin himself/herself will take action against it. Till that time, i am entitled to express my views.

Please dont act as the moral police of the board. Leave it to the moderators and the admin.
