Hey is it possible to pursue a Chartered Accountancy in Ontario via the ICAO if one opts to do the CMA or even ACCA first?

I tried to get to Canada via the ICAO prescribed method on their website but my Canadian Immigration is taking forever and i cannot afford to not be an enrolled student any longer. My mother applied as a skilled worker back in Aug 2009 when i was in my final year as an MBA student (A dependent), back then we were told by most specialists/consultants it would come through within a years time. Unfortunately time went on, i graduated, now i am working as an RM at HBL but i am no longer a student (thus no longer a dependent).

I have been under pressure to get admission somewhere either in Pakistan or abroad because if the Canadian authorities find out that i am not a student anymore, they could disqualify me from the application.

I dont want to do another MBA from Canada, According to the ICAO people i need to take some 3-5 courses from a college before they can allow me to register as a student through the ICAO and be allowed to register for the CA exams and the apprenticeships in the audit firms.

Most college full time programs being offered on the ICAO website are all 4 year bachelor based programs. Thats just not possible for me. Only 2 programs are master based accountancy programs but i am only elligible for one (even that is a 2 year program). It just doesnt make sense to go into a full time college program just for the sake of 3 courses only.

I have sent bundles of inquiries to almost all universities to Canada and they were like i can take the 3 courses i want individually as a special student provided i am a Canadian National or Resident. If i go on a student Visa then i will only get one if i am enrolled in a full time program. So getting the immigration visa was the best case scenario and would have made life easier for me. Unfortunately its taking so long, no guarantee when it will come through, how long it will take (i have heard from people it can take as long as 5 years and i dont have that time to waste)

Hence the reason why i am exploring other alternatives to my pursuit of doing CA in Canada via the CMA route or ACCA route. The immigration procedure will go on but its better if i go to Canada as a student atleast. My status can be changed later on if i get the visa.

But no career prospects at HBL as an RM, i have already spent 1 year and at best will only benefit by spending one more year in the organization (that will make me eligible for MBA programs abroad if i really need to enroll in one).

Hi All,

Just wanna confirm (In case anyone appeared for CMA exam from Saudi Arabia), do they require your iqama for registration or entering the examination center? or only Passport is enough?
I am from Pakistan, need to take CMA exam but iqama is expired so was wondering if Passport would do?

Dear All,
As far as I know, there is one professional in Jeddah who is guiding and distributing at very nominal fees all professional courses CMA, CIA, CFE, CISA, CPA study materials (self-explanatory type) and time by time guidance during exams' preparation.

I just got all CMA materials (non-transferable) via his email address [email protected], paying only nominal charges as compare to the very expensive prices of Publishers.

I think no need to spend lot money on materials, wasting time on searching for best publishers here and there. Everyone should contact directly to him, take the material for the respected course and just start study. He is very gentle and knowledgeable professional. Allah bless him.

I hope it would serve you all in nice way!
