yaar... why are you getting so worried?? no need to prepare before hand you'll get ample time to study once you start your classes but once you get started be sure never to look back... just keep on studying hard, and try to get an understanding of the system coz as one of teachers used to say... CA ki parhaai mushkil nahin hai, system mushkil hai...
and as for the guy who was trying to help you... yaar give him some credit at least!! by the way... seniors always try to help their juniors coz they've experienced the system and give you valuable input regarding it... value their advice!! you've got a lot to learn about the world my friend...

hey man! If you are so eager to start your preparation now, you should purchase the functional english study text. Having so, you can start learning vocabulary, idioms, synonoms, antonyms, bla bla bla ........ coz these are the things which the teacher won't explain you in the class & you have to do them on your own. This would really help you if you spend your time now learning this stuff. As far as other subjects are concerned, just forget about them at the moment; as it would be difficult for you to understand them right now.(what are class rooms meant for?)
