Another menace that is now creeping up is gross mis management on ATM withdrawls, ATM machines are at many a time out of cash and out of statement slips,. you still get debited for the withdrawl and believe me there is no recourse, My father recently was a victim of such a case and despite having gone upto the state bank, their enquiry simply was sifting through some paper work and coming out to say that the bank was right.
I have had a couple of scuffles with Managers at Habib Bank and MCB in Lahore, which came to the fact of one banker at Habib bank started shouting at me and telling me that he was not my 'servant' and for me to get out. When I asked him to give me in writing that he could not honour my request one of the senior bankers came to me and requested me to leave and come back in the morning since Chaudhry sb was upset right now. I and my family have moved all their bank accounts from Habib Bank and MCB to a foreign bank.
