Hi Everyone,
I am envisaging another battle of words. This is a sensitive issue. We love discussing Islam and politics and do nothing. Make a check list of good things, should be in a good society and see how many right check you have and then a list of bad things in a society see how many crosses you have.
I am sure you guy would have seen the movie "Ghalib". I love one dialogue of that movie. Ghalib says "Qoumain awam sey banti hain badshahoon sey nahin, agar aaj bhi aap laqay na ura rahay hotay tou hey mulk khuch or hota aur yeh qoum kuch aur hoti.
What Awais said is correct "Qoum aur Log Apne Badsha K Mazhab Pe Hote Hain". However, that was applicable at least 2000 years ago. If you take an Islamic prospective, when nations were destroyed by Allah the Almighty, He destroyed everyone. He did not hold accountable to the rulers only. Everyone is equally responsible because it is we, who elect these leaders and send them to Assemblies. What I love about my dear home land is that we say what we donât practice and we practice what we donât say.
