Be very clear in your concepts. In my opinion F5 is the second most technical paper after F8 in the fundamental level of ACCA. Read the book thoroughly and read and understand the theory of costing techniques questions in the exam kit. I had followed kaplan book and exam kit. Solve the numerical questions yourself. In performance measurement questions, first see and understand the approach of the answers in the exam kit. Answer them yourself the second time. Then download past exam question papers from the ACCA website and ATTEMPT ALL OF THE QUESTIONS AND PAPERS YOURSELF. Then match your answers with the answers downloaded from the website. Find any mistakes and understand the concept behind the answer of that particular mistake. Remember to keep your concepts strong and don't go for memorising stuff
