Hi,
Although i am male but to assure you that you chose a career you think that you have interest in, not others.
My parents wanted me to be an Engineer but i always wanted to be an Accountant. I made right choice and i am quite happy for the risks and rewards attached with it.
Futhermore when you go for higher or professional studies then i think that you can achieve it more easily if you have interest in it.
One of my friends failed in ACCA part 1 untill recently because he wanted to be a professional cricketer. Every time he was used to show false results to his parents. About 1.5 years ago he spoken with his father, his father resisted strongly but then agreed.
Now he is playing cricket from WAPDA and playing with national players. Next year he is hoping to appear in National T20 as well.
Bottom line one cannot achieve to fullest extent if he/she don't have personal ambition and interest in it!
