I think UK door is closed. You can go to UK under Tier 2 and that is only possible if you have a company sponsoring you. That is almost impossible. Company can simply place an add in newspaper and they will have dozens of people with better,local, experience . Your seven years of experience will be considered 'nil' by almost all the employers.
Ordinary Tier 1 has already been axed. However, its has been replaced by Tier 1 exceptional talent. UKBA also placed cap of 2000 p.a. on Tier 1 exceptional talent. This Cap has already been filled for this year. This category has been reserved for scientist, scientific researchers and surgeons with exceptional skills. So this door is also closed.
As for Citizenship, Its been very hard now. UK Government is now introducing 3 way tests for citizenship.So now its not simply as spending 4-5 years on work permit and you have citizenship or ILR. Spend 14 years in UK (combination of legal plus illegal stay)and you are UK citizen. Spend 11 year (legal stay) and you are citizen. But remember laws are subject to change. Every year laws are becoming more stringent. So one cannot afford to bet on these deals.
Now for easiest routes, Claim political asylum and you are citizen right away. However, you must have genuine reason. Other route is marriage with UK or EEA (European Economic Area) citizen. Though marriage with UK citizen would get you citizenship much before than if you do with EEA citizen. It shouldn't be sham marriage.
