Dear All,
I am planning to purchase a digital Camera (for still photography) but I am confused which one should i get. If any body have used any good Camera please let me know the make and model number and obviously the price.
4 months ago I got the Digi Cam PC Cam 900 (Creative) but Its results are good in the day light only. and second thing it consumes four AAA size batteries for taking around 100 pics (only).
I ll be thankful to u all.

Regards.

Yeah SMR I have the same one too, but it is a real pain,.. getting to replace all those batteries ! what I now do is just use my Motorola A1000, its got a 1.3 Mega pixels camera,. so again day light issue but its better results than the creative cam. !

Thanks for your feedback, I have finally purchased Olympus C-370 Zoom, 3.2 Mega pixels, It has 12x Zoom (3x Optical and 4x Digital combined), memory card enabled, 12 MB internal memory, you can record unlimited video as much as ur memory permits, takes very clear pictures even in the night, It costs only Rs.9,900/- Now the batteries, for this I have purchased four batteries of Camelion for Rs.500/- and a MW charger for Rs.600/-
i.e. by paying Rs.11,000/- I have got a complete camera up to my level of satisfaction.
and Dear Shahid, Yes Mobile Camera may have kicked out the non digital camera, but the features in the Digital Camera cannot be compared with digital camera.
The features which i have in this C-370 are available in a mobile phone (dont know the model and make) but that mobile costs Rs.48,000/-, Now you can do the cost and benefit analysis. )

Congratulations smraza
Hey Pracs, having fun with your 'A1000'?
I'll only say that a camera is a camera and it can do better for which it is made.

Well can anyone tell me what is the difference between ZOOM and FOCUS?

It depends upon your usage i.e. professional use or domestic use.
Things to watch out are Resolution (stated in Mega Pixels) and Optical Zoom (eg 3x), please note that Optical zoom is quite different from Digital zoom which isnt that important (i wont go into detail).

For domestic use anything near 4 mega pixels with 3x optical zoom should be good enough. Beyond 4 mega pixels naked human eye cannot identify the difference. Optical zoom is also important as it denotes the capacity of the lens to capture light which is more important for a better quality image. Carl Zeius are amongst the best lens manufacturers and most big brands use carl zeius lenses.

I have done some price research on digi cams. Based on that I would advise that if you are looking for a less-expensive better quality digi cam then go for FUJI cameras. I have used Fuji Finepix and I found it really good. At the moment I have got Sony Cybershot T3 which works fine for me.
