In Jan, 2005, petrol and diesel were selling at Rs 40.39 and Rs 26.21 per litre respectively. As reported in the papers within nine months the prices jumped by 15.9 and 10.97 per litre respectively. On Sept. 30, 2005, the OCAC raised price of petrol by Rs 3.68, from a previous rate of Rs 52.61 per litre to Rs 56.29 per litre. Similar increases were also announced in the prices of other petroleum products for the next 15 days, starting from October 1, 2005. The oil marketing companies separately announced increase in the diesel price by Rs 2.59 from Rs 34.59 per litre to 37.18 per litre. Kerosene became costlier by Rs 1.87 per litre as from the existing price of Rs 31 per litre it jumped to Rs 32.87 per litre. HOBC price was raised by Rs 4.37 that means it hiked from 58.40 per litre to Rs 62.77. Now with the latest 7.2 per cent increase in oil prices, kerosene oil has shot up to Rs 35.23 per litre, petrol has been fixed at 57.70 and HOBC ex-depot price has been raised from Rs 62.77 per litre to Rs 64.88 per litre.

THESE ARE THE PRICES AT MAY 8, 2006. ADJUST FOR ANY DIFFERNCES IF THE PRICES H AVE RAISED AFTER THAT. SORRY WASN'T ABLE TO FIND DATA AFTER THAT DATE.

Hope this helps you. sorry for the late reply as i was not on the forum
