hmmm....Does anyone know anyone who did CA inter first & then did ACCA along with Mod-E & F?

More importantly If u are doing CA, does getting more qualifications like ACCA & CIMA help in any way?

1. Actually not seen seen any person opting this Route. But i have seen many ppl Passing through the Other route, thats to 1st complete ACCA and then ACA.

2. No if u want to work in Pakistan, it will just pile ur qualifications up actually not adding value to ur employebility....
But if u want to work overseas then it will really help u as Both of them Are Internationally Recognized Qualifications.......

hmm...But does getting these qualifications help in increasing ur OUTPUT at the job? I mean, do ACCA & CIMA "help u" in doing ur job more effectively?

Afterall, arent qualifications supposed to train ppl for real jobs, not just land them into them?

Yes u r very right... If u want to Know this in the output wise then CA from ICAP and then 4 yrs Articles frm a Reputed firm will be more than enough. And i dont think that doing ACCA and CIMA wll help to greatly improve ur output in the job... The only thing which improves it greatly is Expereince.....

Well i did my CA inter . began my articles and continued with my ACCA (qualifying in my third year), followed by CA final residual papers in year 3 and 4 (this is when we still had exemptions).

We got robbed of the shortened articles 3 years, one attempt late. But then again I had done my B.com first (this is ancient history,. ).Try not to over load your self... that kind of happened to me.. a one point of time I was sitting for CA inter and M.com together and planning for an ACCA exam six months down the road. Once I started my articles I had to abandon my M.com persuits..

I guess the best route now is to about an ACCA and then begin u r articles and CA..

For the real young,, i propose an A level followed by ACCA.. and articles plus CA..

Dont u think O level followed by CAT and then ACCA folowed by articles and ACA ...... should be a better option....

As its my personal experince that CAT Students are in much better position in ACCA rather than ACCA starters and also considering that A level Students are having a major difficulty in gaining nrollment In ACCA on basis of A levels.... I think ACCA is demanding a Combination of subjects which most A level ppl are not Attempting....

And this happened in SKANS Multan.... There was a bactc of approx 6 A level candidates sitting for ACCA level 1.... There aim was to attempt the papers in Dec 2004 session but till no one of them Has evenbeen registered in ACCA.

yup if somebuddy wants to adopt accountancy as a profession the stream mentioned by swalat is the best...and ofcourse the shortest one...but one should have enough aptitude and determination to follow this route...

Actually aptitute and determnation is essential for every route and there is 1 more Trait required specifically for the Accountancy Profession which Distinguashes it from Others and That skill is

Pateince

So, I guess the best & shortest way would be to do ACCA first & then CA (Mod E & F) with 3 yr articles. But there are 2 questions which come in my mind.

1) Several posts on the forum say that big 4 are reluctant to hire ACCA's for articleship as compared to CA-Inters. Is this the ground reality ? Anybody with ne experiences ?

2) If someone clears CA Mod E & F during the 3 yrs of articles after ACCA in 1st attempt, would he be at a advantage or disadvantage ? Coz on one hand he clears CA in 5 yrs & on other..he has one less yr of experience. (Just a question ! coz I know there is a high probability tht ICAP babas would make sure this doesnt happen. )

1- Actually the big 4 are not really reluctant on Hiring them... Taliking Abt the Pakistani scenario than Firms Like Ferguson and Ford Roads are although reluctant but if u r 1st time pass in ACCA then they will surely Hire u although i am not sure abt Ferguson ... but even there if not all than many ppl there are also Safarashi......

In UK ACCA is fastest growing Accountancy Body... and it is clearly evident from the fact that even ICAEW and CIMA and CIPFA are planning Merger..... As i have alreadyt posted an article related to it.... The Big 4 Require 1st time passed ir-regardless that u r ACCA or ICAEW Qualified.....

2) Although he has one year less of expereince and on the other he has An Internationally recognized Qualification... Thats of course not a bad deal........
