Apologies if this is not in the right place; I don't know much about these forums as I am new on it. I had a query regarding ACA and CA. I know we get the qualification of CA from ICAS and we get ACA from ICAEW. What I wanted to know is which is considered to be more prestigious. I keep hearing that ACA from ICAEW is more prestigious. Some people say it is equivalent. Due to mixed opinions, I'm really confused. I would be glad to hear your views and would like to know which qualification leads to better career prospects.

Thanks in advance!

Both ICAS and ICAEW are highly respected and their membership brings great career prospects.. its more about location and if i were to choose any one of them, i would go for ICAEW not because it is more prestigious or anything of that sort, but due to the fact that it has more professional affiliations with other bodies around the world as compared to ICAS.. i think thats the only place where ICAEW gets the edge over ICAS. But for someone living in scotland, ICAS is the cheetah!!

hope this helps

hey thanks for the reply.I don't think location would be a huge issue for me as I'm currently living in London; Scotland is not very far away from London. I just want to choose the one which is more recognised internationally especially in the middle east as I don't have intentions to live in London permanently. Which one would you say is more recognised internationally

as i mentioned above, ICAEW has more links with other professional bodies.. for instance, if you plan to move to Canada, you can get a reciprocal membership of CICA. similar is the case if you move to Australia. So yeah, in that sense, ICAEW would be a better option.
