I am new to the site, and this is my first post.
Can I ask for some advice on date of supply and invoice date please.
I work in a busy accounts dept and recently the company employed a new invoice clerk. Our sales department has just agreed a sale to another EEC country. The goods are due to be despatched in the middle of June but they wanted the invoice dated at the end of May. No payments have been received. When the new clerk questioned this she was told that it had been done previously with no problem, and the sale was only agreed if the invoice could be dated in this way. When the MD was approached his response was "there is no VAT" so no problem.
Would someone please advise me on all the implications.
