PIPFA is a joint venture of ICMAP, ICAP and Auditor General of Pakistan. The required academic qualification for PIPFA is intermediate or A-Level. Although its duration is 1.5 years but it is also a difficult certification. I do not know whether member of PIPFA can practice as practicing accountant or not. But in private sector PIPFA qualified persons have no enough worth mainly because PIPFA was established to cater the requirement of audit persons for government organizations. Although syllabus of PIPFA is tough but a PIPFA qualified person only get 6 to 7 exemptions in ICMA. I think same numbers of exemptions are available in CA for PIPFA qualified persons. The students of ICMA and CA who complete 5 semesters of their certifications are offered membership of PIPFA.
But along with all above mentioned facts, being a member of PIPFA you enjoy the benefits of member of recognized body of professional accountants. Thatâs why PIPFA may also a good option.
