Articleship at somewhere othere then audit firm?

Hi, I want to know wheather the CA trainees can do their article ship somewhere other then audit firms like in BANKS or MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES?

No as per ICAP bye laws, only the last year (year 4 of a 4 year articleship) can be spent as an industrial trainee ( a bank or other suitable business). But for that too a trainee has to receive a release and a NOC from his accounting firm. (In my time hardly any one got an industrial release)
