I have not given any numbers to anyone. I think no one will have objection regarding top 3. U can also consult ICAP's list of firms with satisfactory QCR ratings.
In our days PAC compiled a list of top 20+ audit firms that had a good / reasonable record from a student's point of view, I am not sure if they still do that, would be worth checking with them.
The last option is ofcourse as Abdur Rehman has suggested to look at the QCR listing on ICAP, but you will need to dig down since there are some 96 odd firms on there and some of them may not necessarily be all that 'trainee friendly'
You are right these two firms are in the same league..unfortunately we have no 'financial information' on any firms in Pakistan, so the handicap. When I was looking for articles I went on to apply to atleast 20 firms (from the PAC list) in Lahore and finally got into one of the Big6 (yeah it was that long ago), although as I believe those were simpler times.
I think that in LAHORE, firms ranking should be;Just for the record, the local Big4 accountancy firms in Lahore

Mohammed Idrees Maqsood as u mentioned, i think there is no such firm in Lahore. Further, firms like Mansha Mohsin......... i dont think shud be there in this 22 list (just my opinion without any grounds).
