My friend, I think first you have to decide what you want to do. I am afraid in the current circumstance merely doing BCom is not enough. Do a masters as well or if you have time and stamina join the CA bandwagon.
And if you want to pursure IT career, better get a generalised IT degree and then specialise. There are a lot of accounting software in the world... from enterprise level oracle/SAP to shop level.. peachtree, etc etc.

Initially, if you can't find an institute, try getting any accounting software from a cd shop. Start using it yourself, see through the tutorials. This will atleast help you familiarize with the accouting software environment.

Apart from typical accounting softwares, basic MICROSOFT EXCEL skills are something all accountants should be familiar with.

It's actually tough to point out which software you should start working on as it basically depends on the employer's software environment that counts.
