Change in Sales Tax

In Budget 11-12 standard rate of sales tax is reduced by 17% to 16%. There r some items on which different rate of sales tax is charged like 8.5%, 19.5% & 22%. Could u please clarify that all sales tax rate has to be reduced by 1% or only 17% rate is reduced & charged as 16%.

Read Finance Bill 2011-12

Amendments of the Sales Tax Act, 1990.- In the Sales Tax Act, 1990, the
following further amendments shall be made, namely-

in section 3, for the word “seventeen”, wherever occurring, the word
“sixteen” shall be substituted;
