Cost Accounting for Sole Trader

Hi Brothers,

Can anyone guide me, what Cost Accounting can do for a Sole trader or Distributor ? I guess, Cost Accountring heavily used in manufacturing business Only to control cost to sell the own product in market competitvely. Is there need to hire a cost accountant in trading company also or need to develop cost accounting procedures to survive in comeptitve market ?
