Farhan, it seems that u too aren't studying accounting, is it?
Syllabus of accounting will be lengthy whether he continues with ICMAP, ACCA or CA...and will almost be the same, there might be slight differences,
mixing taxation and accounting, i am not sure but have a hint that they have combined the two subjects in stage I...yup this is the drawback, as students with "non B.com background" will find it difficult to study subjects like Taxation at very inital stage...
If there are no financial problems with him then he can try ACCA, there initial papers are comparatively easier, but afterwards he will find the same difficulty level as he is facing now...
