Depends on your interest, subjects and grades

If you have accounting and Economics with atleast B then go for CA

and if you have Three A's in accounts, economics and maths and if you have taken SAT 1 and 2 with score above 1400 then go to LUMS and you'll get about 60-80% scholarship, finally it depends on your intersets.

As for CA after Bachelors, of course you can do it

salaaam all,

mr. Aarij, the second option is undisputedly a better one by all means. but, as it is said, "interest knows no bounds". so, it also depends wht u wanna b in future. i said so bcoz u still want to b a CA after bachors in acc&finance for LUMS!!! i think u shud go for CA directly after A-levels, instead of doing gradfuation n then oging for CA.
for comparative analysis, plan of ACA will b longer one in terms of time n efforts. plan for graduating in acc/finance will take a much shorter path in time. plus, the brand name of LUMS is more thn enough to earn u a good job newhere, specially in pakistan. if ur main nonplussing point is the salary, dont worry abt it. i personnaly know many graduates of IBA who started off at above-40K salary tht reached in 80k-90k bracket within a yr plus all perks like car, etc.
plz dont take this last comment personnaly, i ve just written it in general sense, for all those who wanna b ACA just coz of high sdalary.
v all wish the best for ur future

salaam all,

well mr. Aarij, better start a job after graduating from LUMS. if u need more studies after tht, good option may b MBA from LUMS. i think if u continued ur studies from graduating to MBA, u may get exemption of ONE year from LUMS. this policy is exercised by all business schools including IBA. it means tht the institute enrolls IT'S graduating BBAs into its MBA program directly in 3rd semester.

other options for further studies may be CIMA, ACCA, CFA, diploma of IBP, n many other things

I've heard that MBA from IBA has more reputation in Pk than MBA from Lums, also BS from Lums has more reputation than BS from IBA.

Is this statement generally well respected?

In my view u should close ur eyes and jump into the river of ICAP and if u would get success then u would be a chartered accountant otherwise aho............ Wink

There is a will. There is a way.
