Pretty much the question in my mind. Early this year, MYASCO held a small conference (MYASCO's introduction) kind of thing before the test for students who had applied for articles. Their Human Resource Manager, Mr. Hashim Ismail Hirani, stated MYASCO's affiliation (at that time) with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. So how come they got affiliated on 17th Oct 2003?

What benefit will MYASCO get from that affiliation?????
nothing more than that as i say i m wearing Top of Nike, Fila, Fubu ????
I just want to ask what kind of benefits we get by these affiliations? if we do cost and benefit analysis, i think cost will be more than the benefits we get.
bcaz when the goras come to pakistan, we have to do Khushamad of goras and give them VIP treatment (e.g. five star hoteling etc etc) to get them satisfied that we are doing audit according to their standards (not the ASs) <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>,
If somebody has done work with goras (either with KPMG or EY) in middle east, he must be known of the fact, that goras says that we do overworking during the course of audit.
If we are doing overworking which means, this increases our level of satisfaction about our opinion on financial statements, they why do we need these affiliations.
I m not saying that all these affiliations are rubbish, but i just want to share the benefits of these affiliations.

As ive always said that we as a nation have physically gained independence, but mentally we still remain a colony of the west. The buddhas of ICAP still think that they're wearing a sort of a medal of affiliation/membership from a foreign firm. The sad part is that they have fed the same message to their later generations, so that most of our current generation thinks in nearly the same fashion, hence these congratulations and all.

On the other hand, foreign affiliation may help MYAS to gain multinational clients, which are being audited internationally by DTT.
