Hi,

So I've done pretty poorly my freshman year (I'm going to finish with around a 2.8), and want to pursue a career in accounting (maybe forensics). I've done some reading, and it's only now that I've realized how important it is to work at the Big 4 if I want to have any future in accounting. I've basically thrown away my first year (I didn't even party, I was just being lazy and I initially wanted to do pre-med, so that messed up my GPA a bit), and now I'm not sure if I can still make it to the Big 4. So, even though I can maybe turn it around, let's assume worst case scenario and that I don't make the Big 4. How screwed am I, because I keep reading that the best way to launch your career is at a Big 4 firm? I also want to add that although I'm ambitious, I don't think I'm ridiculously ambitious. I'm looking at eventually getting into the 150k+ range after some years of experience. Can I still attain that if I don't start at the Big 4?
