Salam Samis899,
I think following info would be helpful to u.If someone gains ICAP membership via ICAEW membership(in which exemptions were availed on ACCA basis) , then after gaining ICAP membership he can relinquish his ICAEW and ACCA membership if he so desires.ICAP just requires ICAEW membership at the time of claiming ICAP membership. There is no compulsion to keep ICAEW membership subsequently. So after gaining ICAP membership u can forfeit ur ICAEW and ACCA membership(if u so desire) as it would decrease ur annual cost.
And ICAEW also don't have any compulsion for ACCAs to maintain their ACCA membership subsequently after claiming exemptions in ICAEW.(for those who r joining ICAEW via 5 year post qualification experience route compulsion to maintain ACCA membership is binding).
Regards.
