hi

According to my information ICAEW is willing to authorise some CA firms in Pakistan to train ACA students, but ICAP is trying to keep ICAEW out of Pakistani market.

Could anyone tell me is it true and if it is true what ICAP is doing to keep ICAEW out of Pakistani Market.

Kind Regards

don't sure abt what u hav said but i also heared little bit about this news,
BUT i think if it is, then this is good for us(pakistani's)
Bcoz when v hav our own prime/supreme accountancy body then y others....
and if there are any deficiencies in our ICAP we must try to improve it
rather then running for any other

Mroneflower,

These kind of rumours have been around for quite some time, I remember hearing the 'ICAEW is coming...' through most of my articles time as well. I am sure until ICAP can help it they will stay away otherwise ICAP will just go into remission like the Malaysian or Singaporian institutes who are there just to issue practicing licenses and nothing more. I for one would like to see ICAP very much there and improve.

Are u saying if ICAEW will enter in pakistani market, ICAP will not be able to compete?.

My Dear
I think we can compete the ICAEW if our professionals start ignoring or give superiority to ICAP over the ICAEW.

Thanks
