Yeah I guess that might be true too. Because I did apply through their website around four five months ago. Might have gotten a call because of that.

Which website did you guys apply in? http//www.icipakistan.com/hr/vacancy_details.php?id=45
or http//www.akzonobel.com/pk/careers/
When had you started your ACCA, eshah and @cca@? I am asking to assess my eligibility. The duration has been longer than normal for me.

Thank you for the contribution. You and @cca@ can mail me through this forum, if you do not mind. I would like to discuss further.

@Dard You can apply on any on any of the links you have mentioned, the second link will eventually take you to the first link )
And I have also completed my ACCA in 2.5 years, four sessions of manual papers, and CBE's before that.

@eshah You just have to achieve 50% in your test, and prove your English language competency through that essay and I think you will be easily successful in both. So there's a high probability of you getting a call for the interview.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Well, I gave my best in the test. If i do get the interview call, I am freaked out about being asked technical questions lol I am horrible at answering on spot. Never can i get that stuff right!

You can try the old trusty method of looking into the mirror and practising. There is nothing to get freaked out about, they all ask the same old questions in interviews.

Like all interviews, they started with 'Tell us about yourself and your career goals' then 'Why do you want to work for ICI, and not any firm', 'Why are you doing ACCA', 'What do you want to do after completing your ACCA', 'If offered the job would you work with us for three years' then there were some technical questions in the form of IAS and IFRS. If I recall correctly I was asked about Business Combinations, Leasing, Deferred Tax, and PPE

Oh riggght. These questions need to be thought through for all interviews lol. I will work on them!

Hmm, i guess these are the most asked topics for all interviews along with financial instruments. Ah well, will see how it goes..

Thanks so much )

Hello again,
Do research regarding ICI Their products, markets, structure etc. You will be asked questions to see how how interested are you in the company.
When they ask you "any questions?" at the end of the interview, do not say "No". With that question they want you to ask questions about the company which you are not sure of. For example, you can ask "How did this training opportunity arise? What will my job responsibilities be? Will i get taxation experience as a trainee? At what frequency will i get promoted? What is the highest post i can get in five years' time(This will show them you want to work for them for a long time). How do you ensure professional development? How do you measure performance of a finance trainee and are the trainees rewarded in the form of ie pay rise, for high performance?"
And ofcourse ask these questions one by one.
Let them know you have done your homework before the interview.
