Dears,

Review of practical implementation issues of IFRSs - Case study of Pakistan by UNCTAD is given at following link

http//www.icap.org.pk/userfiles/file/pakistancasestudy.pdf

These will help removing so many confusions and will let the readers know about the progress achieved in implementation of IFRSs in Pakistan.

Dear Kamran,

I have gone through this report. This is excellent especially on the performance of ICAP.

ICAP has targetted to acheive full compliance with IFRS from January 01, 2010.

Will it be possible to acheive this compliance in existing circumstances, the controvercial IAS-39.

Regards,

Star,

Let's hope for the best. The major issue of IAS 39 had been with banks and mutual funds etc. The mutual funds have lately been instructed by SECP to follow IAS 39.

We have to wait for the decision of SBP regarding how banks will adopt it in coming times.

Regards,

KAMRAN.
