Dear fellows,
I am an ACCA Finalist. passed 13 papers and given the last paper in last Dec attempt. I want to get register with ICAEW as a student. I just want to know that if I register with ICAEW as student and claim exemptions on the basis of passed ACCA exams and do not sit for its exams, whether I'll have to pay annual subscription of ICAEW as we pay for ACCA, or not? If yes whats the annual subscription of ICAEW?

please reply ASAP,

Regards,

Dear u would be required to pay annual subscription of both ACCA and ICAEW.ICAEW's subscription was 165 pounds for student(higher for full members) few months ago, do confirm the current one.Good news is that Icaew has waived paper exemption fee for ACCA affiliate(and students) and ICAP MEMBERS(also for CIMA and few others also) for time being. So u can get upto 12 paper exemptions if u have passed option papers of adv Tax and adv Audit for free.
But to sit last 3 papers of ICAEW u must have completed 2 years of experience after registration under Icaew approved employes.Aap straight away last 3 papers nahin day saktay.

Dear Shani Thanks a lot for your quick reply, its very helping. I am in the process to confirm it further from other fellows as well, as I have just heard that there is no annual subscription fee for ICAEW, Independent ACA students.
but as I said I have just heard that but not confirmed, I want to confirm it before proceeding to register with ICAEW, 165 pounds of ICAEW and 69 pounds of ACCA is too much at this stage.

One more thing dear independent ICAEW student can only appear in first 12 papers. It is necessary to start work experience and join a registered employee to sit for advance level papers(last 3).

Dear Shani,
I have asked this question directly to ICAEW and now I am waiting for their reply. I'll share this information with you as soon as I get their reply.

Thanks a lot for updating me on ACCA Affiliate and Member Subscription fee and ICAEW training requirement. I just intend to get maximum exemptions for ICAEW exams and register with ICAEW at this moment.

Regards,

Shani

You can attempt Advance stage exams even without being in a training contract. You only have to be in the last year of training to attempt case study.
You can attempt advance level exams before professional stage as well.

Hi guys,
I am an ACCA Affiliate(P6 n P7).I want to know if the ICAEW exemption fee has been waived off for ACCA Affiliates in 2010 and if I cud claim these exemptions prior to registeration as in the case of CA(ICAP).
