Hi Friends
I want to know about Phd procedure in Pakistan and in abroad as well.
I have Masters Degree in Economics and I want to go to Abroad for Phd, But question is that " Our masters is equal to their Graduation." So, am I eligible for going abroad for Phd or Should I do M.Phil First. and also guide me about Phd duration and Procedure.
waiting for your replies

well... i don't have much info on the equivalency but probably you've to do MPhil.

but i do have information about other things you'r asking

PhD usually takes 3 to 5 years.

HEC regularly advertises scholarships for PhD. Usually they are MS leading to PhD or MPhil leading to PhD.

You'll qualify through a GRE type test taken by NTC. Its not a very tough thing usually, I've seen many mediocore people qualifying & going for PhD abroad.

Contact HEC, ask if any scholarships are still available & apply for them.

u can consider the option of taking admission in MAS program offered by Applied Economics Research Centre (Karachi University)after it's completion u will be eligible for MAS degree and would be offered to enroll in MS program leading to PHD in ur chosen Applied area of Economics or complete remaining studies from any foreign country.
min eligibility for entrance in this program is Masters in any discipline
