Well, I dont know exactly what islam says about it, but according to my personal opinion, if somebody clear his exam by unfair means, as cheating is prohibited in islam, he is going to earn money by getting job on the basis of that exam, so whatever he will earn, that income will be suspicious whether it is Halal or Haram,<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
for example, if u take somebody's Quran Sharif without his permission, and u recite Holy Quran, so will u get Sawab by recitation the stolen Book of Holy Quran???
so if there is haram thing in base of any thing, everything will become haram which was associated to that thing.

Aslam O Alikam, emaan

your question is interesting

The hadeeth, “Whoever cheats us is not one of us” and it (hadeeth) is general in meaning, including cheating in buying and selling, in giving advice, and in promises and covenants, in trusts, in exams in schools and institutes, and so on. That includes copying out material from books, taking answers from other students and giving them answers, whether spoken or written down on papers passed among them.

But, I would like to mention, Being a muslim, I never take Islam as a complicated religion (like mulllaaas) It is a practical religion.
