HI THIS IS MY PROBABLY 5TH OR 6TH TOPIC POST ABOUT GETTING ADVISES.SOME PEOPLE REALLY HELPED ME OUT BUT STILL .........HUH........ NOT SATISFIED
I'M A STUDENT OF FINAL YEAR OF I.COM FROM F.B.I.S.E JEDDAH KSA.I WANT TO BE A WELL ROUNDED PROFESSIONAL IN ACCOUNTS AS WELL AS FINANCE.MY FATHER IS ASKING ME TO GO FOR LUMS (PAK)(BSChons ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE) WELL I ALSO HAVE A MIND ON IT BUT I THINK OF GOING FOR ACCA AND THEN MBA FINANCE BUT DAD AGAIN SAYS FROM BSc TO MBA IN LUMS AND THEN CA.REALLY CONFUSED . SOME PEOPLE ADVISED ME OF JOINING CA DIRECTLY( mostly they said ICAP) BUT THEN COMES THE PROBLEM OF RECONGNISING OF THE CERTIFICATE . I HAVE MADE IN MIND TO WORK IN SAUDI ARABIA AFTER GRADUATIONS.
WELL I KNOW I WENT ON AND ON BUT PLZ ADVISE ME .

CA is good but it will consume so much of your time. MBA from LUMS is favorable option.

In my view you should opt for MBA from LUMS.

SO FOR GOING TO MBA SHALL I OPT BSc hons ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE OR AFTER GETTING BSc hons in APPLIED ACCOUNTING WHICH I'LL GET AFTER ACCA.

If you are talking about the Oxford Brooks Univeristy's degree, it would not be so worthy for you during MBA becoz you will get it just by posting some assignment etc.

I dont know whether or not you are doing ACCA currently. If yes, then you should not opt to MBA of LUMS.

In my view, if you are currently in ACCA then you can do CFA after doing ACCA. It would be better than MBA in this situation.

I would recommend LUMS and forget Oxford Brookes degree that you may get from ACCA. In my view, LUMS is better university than Oxford Brookes. As your father and others members have said, get admission in LUMS and do their BS and MBA programme and your life would be sorted. You can always pursue CFA after your MBA if you really want to excel in the finance (especially investment) industry.

hello ali boy i suggest you should go for ACCA and then go for CFA coz you can get BSC degree in applied accounting with ur ACCA and then do CFA because it has demand in middle east i.e KSA, UAE etc
my suggestion is that and if u go for what ur father is saying i will be appreciate it because after all he is your father his experience is greater then your age . and belive me if u go for what ur father is saying ALLAH will also help you.
