qualifying asset term is uesd in IAS-23.
qUALIFYING ASSET ARE THOSE WHICH ARE NOT READY FOR THEIR INENDED USE. When asset is nit uesing in production or in business hen how can that depreciated?
Depreciation is systematic allocation of deprciable amount of an asset over thier useful life.
You can say asset is under construction. And depreciaton start when his economic benefits start to flow to entity
