AOA

can someone please guide me what to choose between CFA and MFE(masters in fin. eng.)

currently i have completed my ACCA and now considering the 2 options for further study. actually i have quite some information what CFA is all about but MFE is bit unfamiliar to me at the moment... so, i shall b obliged if someone just highlight what MFE really is and its scope in future.

i have heard that u need sound proficieny in C++ for MFE. what other pre requisites are required for MFE?

regards,

You have already done ACCA and now are looking for an alternative qualification. It would have been a good idea to know the reasons for pursuing additional qualifications, e.g. perhaps you are looking to enter the finance industry etc..

CFA is a qualification broadly targetted for investment management professionals and especially for equity or bond researchers.

MFE is broadly a training for quantitative analysts who develop, modify and work on mathematical models to derive the value of derivative contracts. Most quants are employed by investment banks and work alongside traders.

MFE is extremely quantitative in nature and ideally is suited to those who have a sound mathematics background. ACCA on its own wouldn't be a suitable pre-requisite.
