Dear Members

Economics is the most important subject. Current economic crunch has enhanced the importance of economics. Professional accounts are expected to have good knowledge of economics. Many subjects of managements which are being taught in CA, ICMA and MBA are the subjects which were derived from economics. Due to the importance of Economics it is being taught from I.COM level to CA level. But unfortunately no advance course of economics is included in ICMA and CA syllabus. An advance course on economics should also be taught in CA and ICMA beside basic course

In accountancy forum economics is also an ignored topic. A separate forum for Corporate Governance exists on forum but no forum for economics is in existence.

So I strongly suggested that a forum for economics should also be established on accountancy forum. The topics related to banking % finance sector and capital market should also be posted on that forum (These are also ignored topics)

I request to all members who are agree with me to reply me and make a request from the administration of the forum for the formation of Economics Forum.

Thanks & Warm Regards,

Awais Aftab

Dear Tariq,

You say that you are agree with me and at the same time you are disagreee with me. I think all of us have read economics and have good knowledge of economics. Many journalists who write topics on economics has no degree in economics instead 90% of us have atleast graduate in economics and some of us have master degree in economics.
I have said that accountants are assumed to be have good knowledge of economics. The issues of money and capital markets are also ignored these topics are related to economics and can be discussed at economics forum.

Awais you should email the admin with your request, if not a separate topic perhaps you can have a 'sticky thread'

Dear awaisaftab

I really appreciate your innitiative.

My base qualification is actually in economics and taught economics too. Later, I studied accounting. So, I would certainly be glad to see a blog dedicated to economics and to contribute on it. Economics is the mother of all social sciences including accounting, finance, and banking. In fact, background knowledge of economics helped me a lot to understand nature and treatment of accounting transactions. Moreover, all accounting treatments are actually based on economic events. So, to be a good accountant, it is very important to have in-depth insight of economics, specially in todays world.

So, I am with you to request admin to have a dedicated portion for economics on this forum.

Good work, keep it up.

Dear Admin

Thanks... I believe, in long-run, this new category of "Economics" would certainly provide a proper and dedicated space to have economics related discussions. It would increase understanding of readers, which mostly are students of accounting in Pakistan, about the economic events/concepts that eventually ends-up in various accounting treatments arround the globe and specifically in Pakistan.

In my view, this forum is providing a great service to the students of financial studies in Pakistan. Good work... Keep it up.

Best Wishes
