Member ICMAP Council appointed Secretary, Ministry of Education

Mr. Sajid Hassan, Member, ICMAP National Council has been elevated to the post of Federal Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan.

Prior to this position, he was holding the post of Additional Finance Secretary (Expenditure) in the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan. He possesses vast experience and has been involved in:

(i) the formulation and implementation of the National Expenditure Policy for the government;
(ii) preparation and execution of National Budget;

(iii) coordination with donors for preparation of country’s assistance strategy;

(iv) preparation and approval of privatization policy and privatization of industrial and financial units;

(v) preparation and implementation of trade policies as well as devising measures for trade promotion;

(vi) preparation of balance of payments and foreign exchange budget of the government;

(vii) administration, finance and accounts of public corporations and commercial banks;

(viii) programming and monitoring utilization of external assistance;

(ix) conducting inter-country commercial relations;

(x) dealing with government departments and ministries and

(xi) representing of government in national and international meetings.

He has more than 36 years of experience to his credit and has been associated with the government as Joint Secretary, Financial Advisor, Civil Affairs Officer, Deputy Secretary, Section Officer and Manager Finance in different ministries, divisions and departments of the government.

Mr. Hassan holds a Master’s degree in Economics and diploma from Institute of Bankers, Pakistan. He has attended number of courses at national and international levels including courses at Harvard Institute of International Development, Boston, USA; Asian Development Bank Institute, Manila, Philippines; Strethclyde Graduate Business School, Glasgow, Scotland; Institute of International Monitory Fund, Washington, USA; National Institute of Public Administration and Pakistan Administrative Staff College, Lahore, Pakistan.
