ACCA Pakistan Holds 7th Graduation Ceremony

Karachi, 23 October 2008 – ACCA Pakistan held its 7th graduation ceremony at Bahria Auditorium in Karachi. This event was attended by graduates, place winners, their parents, employers and tuition providers.

The ceremony commenced with welcome address by Mr. Arif Masud Mirza, Head of ACCA Pakistan. He congratulated the graduates and place winners on their remarkable success and thanked all the sponsors for supporting this event. Mr. Mirza highlighted graduates and new members as ACCA brand ambassadors who are equipped with all the important values and skills required by today’s business world. He said that their sound professional ethics combined with modern qualification will ensure them market recognition and career mobility.

Ms. Shazia Marri, the Minister for Information, Sindh was the chief guest at the event. She congratulated ACCA Pakistan on holding the 7th graduation ceremony. Ms. Marri said that ACCA Pakistan has set a legacy of producing qualified professionals with strategic skills, knowledge and professional values which has set a high standard for the rest to follow. She was delighted to acknowledge ACCA as one of the most popular professional qualifications among Pakistan’s youth today.

Later, Mr. Mirza and Ms. Marri awarded the graduates and place winners with certificates, cash prizes and a shield in recognition of their achievements. The cash prizes amounting to Rs 400,000 were sponsored by SKANS, School of Accountancy, PAC, BPP, CAMS, Kaplan Financial, the British Council and SBS School of Business Studies. Graduation ceremony 2008 applauded the accomplishment of 590 students of whom around 20% are young women that passed their exams in December 2007 and June 2008.
