ACCA Pakistan Organizes Talent Gymnasium 2012

KARACHI (October 02, 2012) – ACCA Pakistan organised Talent Gymnasium 2012 in Karachi at Pearl Continental, attended by key employers and more than three hundred ACCA students.

It was a unique platform for dual objectives of honing professional skills of finance and accounting trainees and bringing together ACCA's key employers and talented trainees to explore career opportunities. With businesses going global the employers require employees with a diverse skill set that matches an international standard. Particularly in the accounting and finance function, instead of mere number crunchers, employers look for individuals with an overall understanding of the business, analytical capabilities and awareness about all dimensions of business risks.

The session included interactive employer presentations from Mr. Syed Amir Ali, Head of Investment Banking, Meezan Bank Ltd. and Mr. Kamran, General Manager Distribution Finance, Karachi Electric Supply Company who spoke about recruitment procedures in their respective organisations and their experience with ACCA trainees.

This year the Talent Gymnasium also helped the participants to live their strongest life through a training session by Mr Sohail Zindani. “Live your Strongest Life” was a focused session that enabled individuals to identify and leverage their strengths at work so that they can make their greatest contribution to the team, the company, and customers.
