Can ACCA qualified get admission in LUMS

Dear
Pakistani university kyon nahi milay gi .Nust uni was at 350 in f time rankings a couple month ago and uet,karachi uni were also in top 600.I shall check and post the precise figure.
Read the whole thread and decide who started this war of words.

just an observation, it REALLY wont matter after as much u think it would. U got an ACCA? C.A ? MBA from a top uni? superb, now comes into play your organisation and ur skills and then thats what decides how ur gonna do in future.

Now that i am working, its all a whole lot different than i thought it d be. So get done with whatever it is that your doing and work on carrying yourself like proff. , speaking power, presentation and communication skills ... all these matter much more than whats being talked about here!!

hummm... ye to good sign hey per me some months ago check kia in Asian ranking lums to mje aysee hee kuch ranking mile which i showed u. but me in ranking pe nahi ja ra keonke har site ki apni methodology hoti hey ranking ki .. what i wana say k pakistani pakistani hain or English English so Students se university banti hain na k university sey students take example of indians, because of some students their IT unis are now ranking high.
my reference is that... you can see ranking of world 8,000 unis

Hi,

Check Wikipedia what the difference between Ordinary and Honours Graduate degree. UK Naric tells equivalency of overseas qualifcations
with respect to UK qualification. UK Naric places M.Com./MBA from Pakistan as equal to an Ordinary Graduate degree.

Therefore, the degree from OBU should be equal to atleast a Master's degree/4 years bachelors degree in Pakistan.

It is not only the how many no. of years we study.It is also dependent upon the depth and scope of the syllabus, dependent upon which a qualification is assessed.

Dear Hec has its own rights to rules.ACCA applied for this OBU recognition and HEC recognized it to a 3 years degree because uk authorities also cosider it a 3 years degree.

Dear
CFA consider Pakistani Mcom/Mba equal to 4 years US Bachelors degrees and they can start CFA directly.Each country has its own policies.In US Pakistani bachelors and masters(2 years each) get around 120 to 130 credit hours after evaluation(a US CPA told) and Wikipedia say that ACCA get 126 credit hours from WES(after evaluation) so it is nearly equal.

Pakistani M.Com and MBA are considered equivalent to undergrad degree only when you have 2 years Pakistani undergrad degree. If you have 4 years Pakistani undergrad degree and then you proceeded to Masters then you're equivalent to the same level of degrees all around the world.

Since Pakistan doesn't offer 3 years undergrad degree I don't understand why would HEC consider OBU BSc. as equivalent to 3 years degree. It means if a guy graduated from Oxford University or LSE with 3 years undergrad will have to do a diploma in Pakistan to be equivalent to Pakistani undergrad degree? Not possible.

The BSc degree programme is worth between 360 / 375 credits and is a full undergraduate degree. If you are referring to credit hours or CAT points please refer to the link below;

Therefore a completed undergraduate degree is worth 120 CATS

yes Saleen,
Pakistani 4 years degrees r considered equal to 4 years degrees all around the world.
I wish HEC consider this bsc equal to pakistani 4 years as I am also planning to have.I shall talk to hec official(a relative) and ask him the real scenerio.

120-130 credit hours is what a Pakistani 4 years undergrad degree worth. So I'm sure now that HEC can never equate it less than 4 years.

ya sure I shall call him soon.He earlier told me that ACCA's equivalency is also under consideration.HEC recognize ICAP and ICMAP qualifications equal to masters.It may also consider full ACCA and others equal to masters but it will take some time.
