<br />Salam,

Kamran Bhai I'm really amazed to see that you are still stuck in this ACCA vs ICAP stuff. I remember I was in my initial papers of CAT when I used to reply your posts upon this topic. Alhumdolilah at this stage where im doing my MSc finance and Risk Managemnt i'm glad for my decision of ACCA. Dear readers, i'd kindly request you not to follow a single opinion.
Trust in yourself and do what your heart says. And this is what I did. Here in London or world wide.. OUT OF PAKISTAN you won't feel the difference of ACA OR ACCA. I personally know my friend who was ACA(ICAP) with 10years of Fergusons experience but had to do ACCA to get job here in UK.
Well it of no use discussing such things again and again.. I'd just like to say , please do not undervalue anything that gives you knowledge. Very good luck with this discussion. and Very very good luck for WEDNESDAY ) DO PRAY FOR PAKISYAN'S VICTORY.

Ali

It's pleasure to seeing you back on the forum. Yes, I do remember my discussions with you.

Please stand corrected, this thread has nothing to do with CA vs. ACCA debate. It is about ICAP's policy to provide or discontinue exemptions to any other professional body mainly but not limited to ACCA. The answers given are in line with the questions put, with a greater focus on the theme of what the exemptions generally entail and/or call for; AND to clarify that we should not venture in any career path MERELY on the hope of continuty of some exemptions. So, it is by no means a CA vs. ACCA debate and you have uselessly amazed; this might be owing to random reading habit of a given text which commonly prevails. I hope you are already clear on what I am telling you.

Further, sticking with a forum (OR MATTER) and visiting it after a gap of, say 2-3 years, is a matter of personal choice. Might you have been sticking up with so many other activities in contrast. So again this is not a matter of getting amazed! Is it?

Please also note that whether someone is in London or Pakistan makes no difference. The competent professionals are equally rewarded every where which is typically in accordance with the spending power in a given economy; and may be Pakistan is much better a place to live at if we ignore the general law and order situation that arose during last couple of years. Further, you cannot roughly compare different countries, their economies, job bank, growth rates, market demand and entraprenual preferences, so forth and so on. So, stating the words e.g. "OUT OF PAKISTAN" does not carry any elevation for the writer. We are in Pakistan Alhamdolillah and what we have been discussing is for the students who are in Pakistan. Personally, I am in Pakistan MERELY for the sake of my own choice. I hope this may also calm down the unwarranted feeling of getting amazed.

As far as qualifying ACCA by some Pakistani CA (in London) is concerned, this is exactly what I have been telling the fellows on this thread. I mean when you need any other qualification, you should just get it without crying for the exemptions. Having exemptions is good for every one, raising voice is also good on the grounds of equality and common interest, but this all should not be a base for our career decisions at the outset.

I once again clarify that personally I have no issue with any professional body and I do have fullest regard for all professionals regardless of whatever origin they have. These petty issues have no bearing to me, however, I sometimes reply the students as a matter of my personal choice and I believe if anything posted by me brings some benefits for others then I should not eliminate this activity.

BTW, it's pleasure reading your career achievements as well. Alhamdolillah!

Regards,

ACCA affiliates had a better chance of passing the final examinations of ICAP due to the fact that they already completed one professional qualification and studied some topics. To ensure the Pakistani market doesn't get saturated, ICAP reduced the exemptions.
If you really want to do C.A then just go for it and give the remaining papers which aren't exempted, in six months(i think all the remaining papers can be given in one attempt). Start planning and studying now.

BilalFca,

I Think U R Quite Right. If I am not wrong u mean that CA in Pakistan is quite less costly degree than ACCA.

The situation is getting worse if students of Pakistan not open their eyes in this darkness which is coming to get them very soon.

If you have one accounting body qualification then why do u go for the other accounting body qualification. If u go for the other then u will gain nothing extra. If u want to pursue your career in accounting then u should not move towards other accounting body qualification because u have already one,and if u want to diversify yourself into other area then go for the other body and feel the difference and most importantly give respect to your professional body. If u are out of pakistan then u will be treated equally whether u are acca or ca.In pakistan ,economically very bad condition u can't get a better job without a reference whether u are acca or ca.I can't understand why people fight on acca v ca
