Osama

You cannot be told or make to understand the exact situation. However, please note that it was an MOU (not an MRA) which some Toms said will never be changed. The world saw it got changed within a short span of time.

I tell you in advance that situation will change further in forseable time. Rest assured!

The MOU was a step forward which broke the ice. It will bring further positive results.

I don't want to go at length regarding how such MOUs are entered into, what are underlying factors and determinants, and what impact will it leave in the longer run, and why India got comparatively favorable MOU while certainly they are not better in quality and unlike Pak, they have not even adopted and implemented IFRSs. It has already been well discussed on other threads.

Don't you understand what miracle has occured in such a short time which abolished the condition of 2 years training imposed by ICAEW? Certainly nothing! Here one needs to concentrate. Sooner the things you are pointing out will also be resolved without happening of any other miracle. World has not come to an end, rest assured.

(vi) Permanent Credit for papers passed irrespective of marks obtained in other papers

Currently students of Modules A to F can retain permanent credit in paper(s) they have passed, if they obtain certain minimum marks (referral marks) in other papers of the same module as well. In other words, if a Student has passed a paper securing over 70% marks, but he fails in another paper of the same module securing very poor marks (say less than 20% marks), he is not entitled to get credit even in the subject he has passed. The Council has now decided that the students will be eligible to claim permanent credit in any passed paper(s) irrespective of the
marks obtained in other papers of the same module.

this phrase doesnt mean that passing percentage is now 70%, it is merely giving an example that "EVEN IF a student secures 70% or above and 20% in other, he does not get credit of the 70% paper" (note that strees is at 70% or more as "70% marks honay k bawajood b considered earlier as fail") also passing percentage is still 50% as notified at the ICAP's website.

Umar

This rule will be applied with effect from date of amendment in ByeLaws for existing as well as new coming students.

For existing students the number of attempts now fixed will start from the date of aforementioned amendment.

For module D books you should consult some one he recently qualified Module D. I did it 11 years back so can't advise you better.

Dear

I can't say with certainty but hopefully it will be formalized at the end of October 2009.

You may post your query through a new/separate thread. You will get lots of responses from such students.

Regarding C.A's passing criteria, a highly reputed professional(ICAP member) confirmed that the the result of ICAP is market-driven to some extent, and is pretty evident
