as i see all of ur opinion but one thing is common in every body
that they choose ca or acca only b/c of fame and status
i know money is not a problem to make but ur charm and ur status and ur ego is problem

When I originally went into my feild of study it wasn't for monetary reasons. I started in International Relations Gender and Security Studies (before ACCA)... I was going to save women in war torn societies from goose stepping militaries...

I did that for a while working as a project coordinator for a non profit and setting up various outreach programs in several developing nations...

Not sure of the age range of the group here... but as anyone who is old enough to remember Greenham commons we had great success with this kind of thing in the 1980's s. By the 90's there was NGO saturation.

So, I've earned a few post-grad degrees/Accountancy Qualifications, worked in academia and government, and now I'm a free lance consultant mainly for lobbying organizations...

The money as the project coordinator was terrible, but the experience was something I would never trade... can't complain about money at this stage in a general sense... but I do swear whenever I see the tax bills.[)]

sure my friend SLEET is right, as i also chose this field as per my own interest in ACCOUNTANCY.
and i think, that, with the growing demand of accountans, it wount be much of a HIGH PAYING PROFESSION and people would then be moving to economics..
i also believe that accounting is a SKILL than just a big qualification with much demand in todays world...
besites.... there are many CA's, who are only good to be teachers.(i have seen similar ACCA's also).
so, its all up to your natural skills, abilitity, mind that helps you keep moving forward in CAREER.

..........good thread friendz.....since last 12 mnths many ppl hav asked m y i was doin ca.......and i was like .......dun know may be status ....may b money ........may b cuz moi lines say i am good at accounting ........but to this day i still moiself confused y am i doin ca.....one thing is for sure lik every one else i am here for something for some goal ........objective .........but the big question is wat is it .......may b m in ca is astop in search of moi destiny ......."to be short and precise cirumstances led me to c.a" i always wanted to be a general duty pilot but unfortunantely i s had knockin feets.........the second thing i wanted most was to be a snooker champ but thtdoesnt goes well with mi family .............so i ended up here
